My gut right now is Aparicio, Close, Colman, Davis and Gaga.

This category is too exciting. I cant even say who will be nominated besides Colman. Not that everyone else is not deserving, it just seems like The Favorite is a film the Academy will go for.

A question mark for me is Emily Blunt. I just feel so bad for her that she has never been nominated; I am hoping that she’s great as Mary Poppins.

I am feeling fairly confident about 4 of my predictions: Aparicio, Close, Colman, and Gaga – but the fifth slot is just too difficult! Kidman? McCarthy? Blunt? Davis? Kulig? Mulligan? Roberts? Hall? Collette? Layne? Stenberg? Someone else altogether? Only 6 or 7 more weeks of suspense to go! (:

I bet if some of those Masterpiece Theatre productions were feature films eligible for Oscars, many of them would do well with certain members of the Academy. Hell, The King’s Speech wasn’t as good as some of those productions and it won Best Picture.
