Alan Bersten says it’s ‘hard to do stuff on TV,’ but that didn’t stop him from kissing Alexis Ren on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Like any good scripted romance, Alan Bersten returned the favor and confessed that he does have feelings for Alexis Ren on Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars.” And he didn’t just do it on a couch like she did, but on a fence after a horseback riding session, which he thinks “felt right.”

“I mean, I didn’t want to leave her hanging. I’m kidding, I’m kidding!” Bersten told “Entertainment Tonight” (watch above). “I mean, it was horseback riding, it was beautiful. It felt right. First of all, I was scared of horses and I was scared of that moment.”

The pro said he’s “not good at opening up,” but he could no longer deny his feelings for the Sports Illustrated model, whose never-say-die ‘tude won him over. “I really like persistence and I like determination and I like passion,” he said. Persistence… in a showmance?

Bersten didn’t just reveal his crush, but kissed Ren in the video package, which both of them tried not to watch as it was playing in the ballroom before they started their samba. “Every time the package comes, we just brace ourselves, like ‘Don’t look! Don’t look!'” Ren said. “It’s really hard, when there’s six cameras staring at you, and you’re like, ‘I’m just going to spill my heart right now. It’s really weird.”

“It’s hard to do stuff on TV,” Bersten added.

So why did you?  Neither revealed why they decided to go for a (first?) kiss on national television, and they’re equally mum on if they’ll do a live kiss on the show (you know someone has strongly advised them to do it by now). “I think that’s enough, Bersten joked, pretending to end the interview. “I think that’s all the time we have for today.”
